I have reviewed Cheryl Hait's employment history and have confirmed her start date to
be September 11, 1987. This year marks her 20t" year of service with the Town of
Wappinger. The resolution adopted by the Town Board on January 2, 2007 does not
reflect this. If it is the Board's decision to provide Ms. Hait with the longevity salary
increase, which I believe to be 2 V2% per ten years of service, in addition to the 3 %
increase that was adopted, a budget amendment will need to be made. For your
discussion I provide the following:
Increase Al 110.102 Chief Court Clerk $2,465.00
Decrease Al 110.200 Justice -Computers $1,500.00
A1990.400 Contingency Account $965.00

When the salaries were established this year I was not provided with the annual
salary to which I was entitled. In researching the matter it was indicated that the reason
for this was that I had not, as yet, been in service to the town for 20 years. Having
produced my W4 form for the year 1987 from the Town of Wappinger to the bookkeeper
of the town, my start date has been corrected reflecting this as my 20`" year. In speaking
with you, you were kind enough to agree to adjust my salary to the appropriate level.
I thank you for your courtesy and kind attention to this matter.
Very my yours,
