RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMTEK'S PROPOSAL TO
UPDATE WAGE AND SALARY JOB
DESCRIPTIONS FOR CLERICAL POSITIONS
At the regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess
County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New
York, on the 23rd day of May, at 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following were present:

ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Valdati and seconded by
Councilman Bettina
WHEREAS, it has been since 1999 that the Town Board authorized a salary study to be
conducted by Amtek Human Resource Consultants and establish a pay grade system for
Town employees, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has expressed an interest to remain competitive with its
wages to retain valued and qualified employees, and
WHEREAS, The Town Board has created new positions and titles not previously
considered and evaluated by Amtek Human Resource Consultants, and
WHEREAS, Amtek Human Resource Consultants has offered a proposal to update the
wage and salary of job descriptions of twenty four clerical positions at a cost of Eight
Thousand Four Hundred and 00/100 dollars ($8,400.00) plus Three hundred and 00/100
dollars ($300.00) for each additional job title's wage to be studied, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1.The recitations above forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2 -The Town Board authorizes Amtek Human Resource Consultants to update
the wage and salary of the job descriptions for twenty four clerical positions at
a cost of Eight Thousand Four Hundred and 00/100 dollars ($8,400.00) plus
Three hundred and 00/100 dollars ($300.00) for each additional Job title's
wage to be studied.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

SCOPE OF SERVICES
AMTEK will update the Town of Wappinger's current Wage and Salary Administration Program
for clerical and administrative support positions. The specific services to be provided by
AMTEK include:
1. Research and obtain -updated .salary -data .for. appropriate -benchmark positions.
• In consultation with Town officials, define survey participants by identifying "similarly
situated" municipalities
• Design market survey
• Identify benchmark positions
• Send survey to participants
• Obtain representative sampling of salary data
• Follow-up with survey participants as required
• Analyze survey results and summarize midpoint rates
a Determine external cunipcLilivcticss with comparable employers
2. Perform job evaluation, including on-siLc intcrvicws with each einployee, of up to twenty
four (24) positions as identified in Appendix A of this proposal. Make adjustments and
additions to job position grade structure as necessary. Each additional position above twenty
four (2,4) shall be $300 each.
3. Update the salary structure to reflect results of market survey and job evaluations. Make
recommendations regarding adjustments to existing pay rates based upon the updated salary
structure.
4. Provide an updated Wage and Salary Program Manual.
5. Male any modifications as necessary to existing Job Descriptions and submit revised copies.
f. Present the updated program and results of the study to designated Town officials upon
conclusion of the project.

FEES FOR SERVICES
Fee Structure:
• The fee for updating the Wage and Salary Administration Program including an evaluation of
twenty four (24) positions as listed in Appendix A will be $8,400 inclusive of all services
detailed above and any related materials and/or mailing costs. Each additional position to be
included in the project shall be $300.
• The Town will be responsible for reimbursing MI TEK for any travel expenses directly
rclated to providing smvices detailed in this proposal. The mileage rate that will be charged
shall be in accordance with the current mileage rate allowed by the Internal Revenue Service.
Terms of Payment:
The above fee for services will be invoiced in six (6) monthly installments of $1400 each, the
first installment to be billed upon acceptance of this proposal and execution of the appropriate
agreement between the Town of Wappinger and AM"TEK. Travel expenses will be invoiced as
they are incurred.
