Terwilliger, Comptroller January 9, 2004 Purchase of Municipal Inventory Management System Technology Master Plan Project SUPERVISOR JOSEPH RUGGIERO TOWN COUNCIL VINCENT BETTINA MAUREEN McCARTHY JOSEPH R PAOLONI ROBERT L. VALDATI The Town of Wappinger has to comply with the GASB -34 Financial Statement Reporting beginning with the year ending December 31, 2003 and to have full implementation of the reporting requirements by December 31, 2006. It is GASB -34 complaint inventory management and reporting system which will allow the Town to properly inventory its land and buildings, equipment, rolling stock (Highway and Town vehicles) and infrastructure (water and sewer lines, streets, signs, etc.) as well as depreciation of these assets and tracking maintenance on these assets. There is no other software available on the market that is as detailed and all inclusive of the GASB -34 requirements and I recommend that the Town purchase software in the amount of $21,500, through the Technology Master Plan Project.
