2016-219 2016-219 Resolution Authorizing Supervisor To Enter Into And Execute Bus Sign Amenities Intermunicipal Agreement With The County Of Dutchess At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on August 8, 2016. The meeting was called to order by Lori A. WHEREAS, Article IX (Local Governments) of the New York State Constitution, and Article 5-G Section 119-o of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York authorize municipalities of the State of New York to enter into intermunicipal agreements for the performance of cooperative activities; and WHEREAS, Section 5307 of Title 49, United States Code, provides federal assistance for public transportation in urbanized areas, to be administered by the Federal Transportation Administration; and WHEREAS, Dutchess County presently operates a public transit system consisting of, among other things, fixed routes throughout the County, including ingress and egress to the municipality; and WHEREAS, the County and the Town desire to enhance public transportation service and improve passenger safety and convenience through the installation of bus stop signs, shelters and other amenities within the municipality and wish to enter into a Bus Stop Sign Amenities Intermunicipal Agreement, a copy of which is annexed hereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth and adopted herein. 2. The Town Board hereby accepts the terms and conditions set forth and contained in the above- mentioned Intermunicipal Agreement, a copy of which is annexed hereto, so as to enhance public transportation service and improve passenger safety and convenience through the installation of bus stop signs, shelters and other amenities. 3. Supervisor Lori A. Jiava, on behalf of the Town of Wappinger, is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Intermunicipal Agreement in the form annexed hereto.
