This office reviewed the bid of the apparent low bidder, Boyce Excavating Company, Inc,
Following review of the attached bid -form, this office requested additional information on related
project experience, financial information, proposed subcontractors, references and
qualifications of personnel, as required by the bidding documents,
Boyce Excavating has worked on a number of sirnilar types of water projects in the past and
appears to be qualified to complete the work required for this project. The responses from the
references contacted were also favorable. It shWid be rioted that Boyce Excavating did not
acknowledge receipt of Addendum No. 1 in their bid proposal Boyce Excavating Was
contacted on this, acki,-iowledging that they did receive Addendum No, I and that Addendum
No, 1 was incorporated into their bid proposal.
It is therefore recommended that the Base, Bid contract be awarded to Boyce Excavating
Company, Inc. in the contract amount of $132,218, A copy of the bid proposal recehled 'frorn
Boyce Excavating has been included with this letter. A Notice of Award will be prepared for this
project after discussion and authorization at the October 10, 2017 Town Board meeting.
