Re: Town Storm Drain
on Private Property
Dear Mr. Lehman:
In an attempt to solve the problem you are having with the storm
drain running through your property, the Town Board, at their regular
meeting of September 2, 1986, authorized the Engineer to the Town to
prepare the necessary plans and specifications to place this storm drain
on the Town easement.
As soon as the specs are prepared by the. Engineer they will be
put out to bid and the project will start in the very near future. At
this time we cannot commit ourselves to a positive date. Perhaps you
might discuss this with our Engineer, Joseph E. Pagge, Jr. at 54-56
Main Street, Poughkeepsie, New York 12601, or for immediate contact
call 471-7898.
Yours truly,
Elaine E. Snowden

Dear Mrs. Paino:
I am writing in reference to the: storm sewer drain located
on my property. As you are aware , I have also discussed this
with the Town Engineer, Mr. Joseph Paggi. I would like to
take the opportunity to thank you and Mr. Paggi for your respon-
siveness on this matter. Mr. Paggi in particular has been very
helpful and cooperative.
To summarize , my problem is that I would like to have an
inground pool installed in my backyard. Unfortunately, there
appears to be a storm drain running through the middle of my
backyard. The drain will definitely interfer with the pool .
Further, an easement already exists on my property line . The
storm drain is outside the easement which is confusing. I am
attaching a copy of my survey showing the approximate location
of the pipe which may be helpful .
I am anxious not to lose the opportunity to install the
pool this season. I understand, as pointed out in Mr . Paggi ' s
attached letter, that the town has procedures it must follow.
I would greatly appreciate both your assistance and the
Town Boards ' in resolving this matter as soon as possible . My
pool contractor and I anxiously await to hear the timetable
for removing the drain to the easement.
Thank you again for your considerate attention in this
matter.
Sincerely,
leyin C. Lehman

Re: Lehman Storm Sewer
Dear Mrs . Paino:
We have examined the above situation, and have the
following comments:
1. The existing storm sewer pipe appears to travel through
the lands of Kevin Lehman, however, not within the confines
of the existing storm drain easement.
2. To move the pipe system to a location on the existing
easement would require work that would cost approximately
$12 , 500. 00.
3. This amount is over the bidding limit as mandated by the
State, and therefore must be bid.
4. If the Board desires, they should authorize us ,to prepare
the necessary plans and specifications for this project.
Please advise us o your decision.
