Call to Order Supervisor Richard Thurston called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. FEMA - Support Dutchess County Commissioner Smith spoke on the county's role in the cleanup. He explained the differences between Federal, State and Local disasters and funding limits for each. To activate funding there needs to have certain thresholds met. For the county it is $1.2 million dollars. The State has a threshold of $28.2 million dollars. The maximum amount to an individual is $31,000. Nevertheless, he suggested filling out a form to be handed out by the Supervisor's office and submit the requests to the State. Brush Pickup For Damaged Areas; Alternate Brush Storage Site; and, Tree Clearing on Private Property Highway Superintendent discussed brush pickup. He explained the lack of room at the recycle center. It was suggested to bring brush to Castlepoint Park or Reese Park. A diameter of 10 inches is the size limitation for brush to be brought to the edge of their property for curbside pickup for Wards one and two. The board asked for pickup help from the county on county roads. The question was asked about the possibility of outside contracting for help on brush pickup. There were questions about burning. The risks were discussed and the board promised to look into it. Attorney Horan cited the Town Code 127(7); but, said that the board had the right to waive the action and the fee. Waiver of Certain Fees For Code Enforcement Permits 4. IV. The board agreed to waive all fees relating to the storm and to refund those fees that have already been paid. The permit will be expedited if it is storm related. Other Emergency Challenges Residents in attendance discussed their individual problems with power or tree damage. Central Hudson representative Denise Van Buren noted that once the roads are safe for travel, power can then be restored. Price gouging should be reported to the attorney general. Mulch will be available for free when the storage location is determined. Brush should be put on public property so that the town can pick it up. Information will be put on the town website. Receipts are necessary for assessing costs when filling out the damage forms. Individual home owners can apply for coverage through their home owner's policy. Building inspector noted that those coming to the house to do work should have insurance. Supervisor Thurston said that recycle center one time use permit can be issued if proven to be directly related by the storm. Off The Floor Resolutions All of the following resolutions were made without paperwork and no documents were submitted to the clerk as of the time of reporting these minutes on June 21, 2018. 1. Motion To: Allow Highway Department to Pick up Brush in Ward One and Two that were related to the Storm It was said that ending dates would be discussed in the future.
