Resolution Authorizing Scout Liam Byrne To Undertake An Eagle Scout Service Project At Carnwath
Farms
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 8, 2019.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the
following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Kuzmicz and seconded by Councilman Beale.
WHEREAS, service to others is an important part of the Scout Oath and each year tens of thousands of Scouts
strive to achieve the coveted Eagle Scout rank by applying character, citizenship, and Scouting values in their
daily lives; and
WHEREAS, one of the rank requirements is to plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project
helpful to any religious institution, school, or community. Through this requirement, Scouts practice what they
have learned and gain valuable project management and leadership experience; and
WHEREAS, Liam Byrne wishes to undertake his Eagle Scout Service Project at Carnwath Farms to benefit the
Town of Wappinger; and
WHEREAS, as the beneficiary of the Eagle Scout Service Project, the Town is not under any obligation to
expend any funds for the project;
NOW THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town Board hereby commends Liam Byrne for his
dedication to the community and authorizes the Town Supervisor to sign any necessary documents needed to
undertake Mr. Byrne’s Eagle Scout Service Project and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Director of Buildings and Grounds is authorized to provide any
necessary information and cooperation that will be needed for the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Town board authorized UP TO $500 for the funding of this project
out of 'A-Fund' town board contingency A1010.405.
