Resolution Adopting Town Of Wappinger Workplace Violence Prevention Policy
Statement
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 22,
2020.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilman
Phillips.
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger is committed to the safety and security of our employees; and
WHEREAS, New York State Labor Law §27b and 12 N.Y.C.R.R. 800.6 requires the Town to adopt
a Workplace Violence Prevention Program to prevent and minimize the hazards of workplace
violence to public employees; and
WHEREAS, 12 NYCRR §800.6(e)(1) requires the Town to develop and implement a written policy
statement on the employer's workplace violence prevention program goals and objectives and
provide for full employee participation through an authorized employee representative; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board desires to adopt the attached written TOWN OF WAPPINGER
WORKPLACE VIOLENCE PREVENTION POLICY STATEMENT to satisfy the requirements
of 12 NYCRR §800.6(e)(1);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. The Town Board hereby adopts the Town of Wappinger Workplace Violence Prevention
Policy Statement which is annexed hereto and shall be made a part of the minutes of this
Meeting.
2. The Town Board hereby adopts the Workplace Violence Incident Report which is annexed
hereto and shall be made a part of the minutes of this Meeting.
3. The Town Clerk is directed to file a certified copy of this resolution together with the
annexed Town of Wappinger Workplace Violence Prevention Policy Statement and the
Workplace Violence Incident Report.
4. The Town Board directs that every employee of the Town shall be provided with a copy of
the Town of Wappinger Workplace Violence Prevention Policy Statement and the
Workplace Violence Incident Report and they shall sign a form that they have received and
reviewed a copy of said policy.
5. Any prior Town of Wappinger Workplace Violence Prevention Policy Statement and the
Workplace Violence Incident Report that have been adopted by the Town are hereby
repealed.
6. The Town of Wappinger Workplace Violence Prevention Policy Statement shall take effect
immediately.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
