Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an Agreement between the Town of Wappinger and the
Wappingers Challenger League
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on March 28, 2022.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the
following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilman Phillips.
WHEREAS, the Town Board finds that it is in the best interests of the Town to provide all children with
intellectual and physical disabilities an opportunity to play our national pastime; and
WHEREAS, the Wappingers Challenger League has administered an outstanding program of baseball activities
since 2005 through the hard work and drive of Bettina Briccetti,her family and countless volunteers in the program;
and
WHEREAS, the motto of the Wappingers Challenger League is "Everyone Can Play!" and the Town Board
believes that it is important for the Town to assist in achieving that goal through providing the necessary
improvements to Inspiration Field and financial assistance for the program;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
The Town Board Members acknowledge they have reviewed the terms and conditions of the proposed
"Wappingers Challenger League Service Agreement"which is an addendum to the contract with Town of
Wappinger Little League Association,Inc. that is attached hereto, and they find the terms contained therein
reasonable and consistent with the goals of the Town to support the special needs community.
The Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor to execute the "Wappingers Challenger League Service
Agreement" and in accordance with the terms and conditions contained therein, authorizes the Town to pay the
amount budgeted for Fiscal Year 2022 upon execution and delivery of the agreement by both parties.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
