Resolution Appointing Seasonal Groundskeepers
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 11, 2022.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the
following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilwoman Bettina.
WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that hiring seasonal employees in the Buildings and Grounds
Department to assist with the repairs and maintenance of Town Buildings and Grounds is necessary; and
WHEREAS, the Rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources authorizes the appointment of
employees by the Town on a seasonal basis; and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings recommends the appointment of the below named Groundskeepers on
a seasonal basis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The Town Board hereby appoints Thomas Johnston as Groundskeeper who shall be compensated at
$17.00 per hour out of budget line A.7110.0120 beginning on April 18, 2022.
2. The Town Board hereby appoints Rebecca Reilly as Groundskeeper who shall be compensated at$17.00
per hour out of budget line A.7110.0122 beginning on April 18, 2022.
3. These appointments are seasonal appointments in accordance with the rules of the Dutchess County
Department of Human Resources.
4. This appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources
and is further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York State and the Dutchess County
Department of Human Resources.
5. All necessary documentation for the appointment shall be filed with the Dutchess County Department of
Human Resources.
6. The 2022 Budget makes appropriations for these positions.
