2023-1242023-124 Resolution Authorizing Notice To Probationary Employee At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on September 25, 2023. WHEREAS, Rule XIII of the Rules for the Classified Civil Service of Dutchess County sets the standards for the Probationary Term of Civil Service employees in the Town of Wappinger and in Dutchess County; and WHEREAS, Rule XIII (1)(a) provides that every permanent appointment from an open - competitive list shall be for a probationary term of not less than eight nor more than twenty-six weeks; and WHEREAS, Rule XIII (5) provides that a probationary employee shall be observed and evaluated during the probationary term; and WHEREAS, an employee currently serving a probationary term, who is known to the Board and was discussed in Executive Session as the matter pertains to the discipline, dismissal or removal of a particular person and the Town Borad determines that disclosure of the individuals name or title is not appropriate at this stage of the review of the probationer's job performance; and WHEREAS, the probationer has served more than eight weeks of the probationary term and less than 26 weeks of the probationary term and is still subject to probation; WHEREAS, the Town Board intends to proceed with the evaluation of the probationer's service with the Town; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The Town Board hereby authorizes and directs Attorney to the Town Board to send a written notice to the probationer via priority mail with delivery confirmation to his or her home address in accordance with Rule XIII (5) in the form that was approved in Executive Session. Additional copies will be provided by hand and to the employee's Town Email address. 2. The Town Board hereby schedules an interview with the probationer at the Town Board meeting held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
