Resolution Promoting Seasonal Laborer To Full Time Groundskeeper
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls,
New York, on January 22, 2024.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph D.

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Casella.
WHEREAS, Zackary Zindler has been employed in the Buildings and Grounds Department as a Seasonal Laborer, and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds advises that Mr. Zindler exhibits an excellent work ethic and
eagerness to learn and he is an asset to the operation of the Department, and
WHEREAS, there is a vacant full time Groundskeeper position that is funded by the Budget, and
WHEREAS, the full time Groundskeeper position is a Labor position under Civil Service Law which is not subject to
competitive examination, and
WHEREAS, the full-time Groundskeeper position is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between
the Town of Wappinger and Teamsters Local 445 ("CBA"),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. Zackary Zindler is hereby appointed to the full-time civil service job title Groundskeeper, effective January 2,
2024.
2. Zackary Zindler shall be retroactively compensated at the hourly rate that has been approved pending the rate
that has been determined in the 2024 fiscal year budget which shall be paid in bi-weekly installments, in accordance with
the CBA.
3. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources and is
further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York State and the Dutchess County Department of Human
Resources.
The appointment is subject to a probationary term of not less than eight nor more than twenty-six weeks in accordance
with the rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
