2024-772024-77 Resolution Promoting Groundskeeper To Full Time Maintenance Mechanic In The Buildings And Grounds De At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February 29, 2024. The meeting was called to order by Joseph D. WHEREAS, Steaphan Lewis has been employed in the Buildings and Grounds Department as a Maintenance Mechanic, and WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds advises that Mr. Lewis exhibits an excellent work ethic and eagerness to learn and he is an asset to the operation of the Department, and WHEREAS, the full time Maintenance Mechanic position is a Labor position under Civil Service Law which is not subject to competitive examination, and WHEREAS, the full-time Maintenance Mechanic position is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Town of Wappinger and Teamsters Local 445 ("CBA"), NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. Steaphan Lewis is hereby appointed to the full-time civil service job title Maintenance Mechanic, effective February 29, 2024. 2. Steaphan Lewis shall be retroactively compensated at the hourly rate of $25.81 which shall be paid in weekly installments, in accordance with the CBA. 3. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources and is further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York State and the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources. The appointment is subject to a probationary term of not less than eight nor more than twenty-six weeks in accordance with the rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
