(Central Hudson) filed amendments to its electric and natural gas tariffs seeking approval from the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) to increase its annual electric and natural gas delivery revenue. Central Hudson's service territory includes Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties, New York. The Company is proposing to increase its electric delivery revenue by approximately $47 million. The resulting electric delivery impact would be $9.19 per month which equates to a 5.3% total bill increase for an average residential customer using 630 kWh per month. Central Hudson is also proposing to increase its natural gas delivery revenue by approximately $15 million. The resulting gas delivery impact would be $8.74 per month which equates to a 5.9% total bill increase for an average residential customer using 770 Ccf per year, or on average 64 Ccf per month. o The filing states the. proposed increases are due to the replacement of aging or obsolete infrastructure; labor costs; cybersecurity protections; and growth in customer arrears. Central Hudson also proposes to maintain energy affordability to mitigate the impact on low-income customers' bills, ensure the continuation of safe, reliable, and resilient electric and natural gas systems, and advance the goals of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Under New York State law, the Commission must consider a utility's proposal and may adopt or reject. it, in whole or in part, or modify it. To ensure full public participation, the Commission will hold in-person public statement hearings on April 29 and 30, 2025, to receive public comment concerning the proposed revenue increase.
