Who needs to sign off on the Event Permit for Town of
Wappinger Properties?
• If the application includes just Park/Pavilion/Bathroom/Electricity
use then only the Rec Director and Buildings and Grounds
Supervisor's signature is required.
• Events that include food trucks onsite will require the Fire
Inspector's signature and proof of annual inspection.
• Events that will require signage to be put up in advance of the
event will require the Zoning Administrator's signature.
• Events that include vendors, amplified sound, and signage will
require the Zoning Administrator's signature, Fire Inspector's
Signature, and Town Board Approval by email.
• Events where alcohol will be publicly served or sold by the renter
require the Town Board's Approval by Email. (This does not
include private party rentals at pavilions ex. Bridal Showers,
Birthday Parties, Family Reunions etc. Those are approved by the
Recreation Director after receiving the appropriate insurance)
• Events that may impact traffic or require road closure require the
signature of the Zoning Administrator, Fire Inspector, Highway
Superintendent, Town Board Approval, and must include proof
that the proper authorities (listed on the application) have been
contacted.
• Events with Attendance over 500 people require Recreation,
Buildings and Grounds, Zoning/Fire, and Town Board Approval
and may trigger the need for additional permits
• The Town Board and/or the Recreation Director reserve the right
after reviewing the rental request to determine that staff will be
required onsite during the event and apply the appropriate fees.
