Mr. Anjos explained the need for a garage / storage area came about because of limited storage space. It is a
slab on grade. The mechanical room is in the back of the garage.
Mr. Prager asked if he has a one car or two car garage.
Mr. Anjos stated they have a one car garage. They want to increase the existing (110 sq. ft.) family room by
expanding it into the garage area. In addition, they want the addition to create some storage space. All of his
neighbors have attached garages. He is proposing the garage to have vinyl siding. He plans do the rest of the
house with vinyl at a later date.
Mr. Lehigh asked if the adjacent homes have two-story garages.
Mr. Anjos said no, a single story garage which is what he is also proposing.
Mr. Prager asked Mr. Anjos to submit, before the public hearing, drawing of the addition.
Mr. Anjos handed in 3 drawings to be copied and given to the Board. He stated the house was built in 1973-
1974. He has lived in the house for about 2 '/2 years.
Mr. Prager noticed the site plan shows 38 -foot frontage. He asked if this is the normal frontage.
Mr. Anjos stated his home is in line with the rest of his neighbors' homes.
Mr. Prager asked Mr. Close to find out when it was changed to require a 50 -foot front yard setback. He stated
there is a letter from Mark Liebermann, the Acting Zoning Administrator. The letter states the applicant seeks
to construct a two-story (38 X 12) garage. He asked if that is a typo.
Mr. Anjos said yes, he is proposing a one-story garage.
Mr. Prager asked if the applicant plans to move the driveway.
Mr. Anjos stated currently his driveway is wider than shown on the plans. The driveway is actually a 3 bay
width. He would probably extend one of the widths up to the new entrance.
Mr. Prager asked if there are any shrubs or trees on the side property line.
Mr. Anjos said no, there is none.
Mr. Prager asked how many cars does he have.
Mr. Anjos stated he has 2 cars and they are a family of 4. His kids are 9 years old and 7 years old.
Mr. Fanuele believed back in 1973 or 1974 a 35 foot front yard was required. MINUTES

SITE INSPECTION - Set for Saturday, April 10, 1999, at 9:00 AM.
Mr. Prager set the public hearing for April 13, 1999.
2. Heart Acura - To discuss Appeal No. 99-7003 seeking to double the size of the existing freestanding pylon
sign on property located on Route 9 in the Town of Wappinger. A site inspection is to be held on March 13,
1999.
Ms. Fitzgerald of Gloede Signs was present.
Mr. Prager stated the Board held a site inspection on March 13, 1999.
Ms. Fitzgerald stated at the site inspection she handed the Board a new sketch. They have reconsidered and
withdrew the original request for a 62.5 sq. ft. sign. They are now proposing a 27 sq. ft. sign (3 X 9). She
stated the reason Mr. Marsh originally asked for such a large sign was because he had an existing sign that he
wanted to add to. She suggested they could amend the application to reflect the newly proposed sign (3 X 9).
She was not sure of the setback. She was unable to get a copy of the site plan from Mr. Marsh.
Mr. Lehigh stated the pylon has to be 25 -feet from the property line.
Mr. Prager was not sure the pylon would be anymore visible than the sign on the building.
Mr. Lehigh asked about the entrance and exit signs.
Mr. Close stated they are not back 25 feet, but he was sure they are according to the site plan.
Mr. Prager asked Mr. Close to check on that.
Ms. Fitzgerald stated the D.O.T. requires entrance and exit signs on most sites.
Mr. Prager stated the Board will need a drawing of the distance from the property line. He asked if the Board
received a letter from the D.O.T.
Mrs. Nguyen said no, the application was not sent to the D.O.T.
Mr. Prager stated the Board did receive a letter from Dutchess County Planning and Development. He stated
there is on file at the Town Hall a denial for a 30 sq. ft. sign.
Ms. Fitzgerald asked how the Board would feel about a 27 sq. ft. sign.
Mr. Lehigh said he wants to see if the two existing (entrance and exit signs) are legal. He stated they can not
grant a variance if they are illegal.

Mrs. Nguyen suggested the applicant should submit a new application stating it has been amended from the
original application. Also, it should be sent to DC Planning since there is a major change to the application.
Ms. Fitzgerald stated Mr. Marsh (President of Heart Acura) is trying to do things the right way. She stated he
has no identification on the road right now.
Mr. Prager asked for Mr. Close to check the Planning Board files for an approved site plan regarding the
entrance and exit signs. Also, he asked Mr. Close to check with the D.O.T.
Ms. Fitzgerald asked if they would be back on for a discussion for the next meeting.
Mr. Prager did not want to set the public hearing yet. He said they could put them on the next agenda for
discussion, but he did not think they would have anything back from the D.O.T. by that meeting. If they do not,
then they could let Ms. Fitzgerald know so she does not waste her time coming in.
Mr. diPiemo said if they should get the information from elsewhere, then she should be notified that we have
that information.
Mr. Lehigh stated Mrs. Nguyen can let Ms. Fitzgerald know if we have that information.
Mr. Lehigh made a motion to adjourn.
*AW Mr. Fanuele seconded the motion.
