Resolution to Adjust Town of Wappinger Mileage Reimbursement Rates for 2009
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on January 5,
2009.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by
Councilman Bettina.
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger regularly compensates employees for the use of
their personal vehicles, in the absence of an available Town owned vehicle, for activities
consistent within the scope of their employment on a reimbursement basis; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board adjusted the allowable reimbursement rate to 50.5 cents
per mile for business miles driven through Resolution 2008-223, as adopted on July 23, 2008;
and
WHEREAS, the Internal Revenue Service had adjusted the allowable reimbursement
rate to 58.5 cents per mile for business miles driven, as referenced in IRS Bulletin IR -2008-82
for the period starting July 1, 2008, through Dec. 31, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the Internal Revenue Service. has adjusted the allowable reimbursement rate
to 55 cents per mile for business miles driven, as referenced in IRS Bulletin IR -2008-131, for the
period starting on Jan. 1, 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the
allowable mileage reimbursement rate of 55 cents per mile for business miles driven.
