Attention: Hon. Joseph Ruggiero

Dear Supervisor Ruggiero.& Board Members:
Last January, our firm was appointed Engineers for the Town for the calendar
year(s) 2002-2003. As you are aware, our firm has provided the Town with these
services for the last seventeen years, and look forward to providing them in the
future.
We feel that we have provided the Town with excellent services over this time
period, and have been able to design and implement cost effective engineering
solutions to the Town's infrastructure needs.
As you are also aware, we have kept our rates fairly stable for the last ten years. In
those ten years Principal rates have remained unchanged, Senior Engineer rates
have gone up approximately 55.00/hr., and Junior Engineer rates have actually
stayed the same.
Due to the ever rising cost of doing business, I respectively request a raise in our
rates for the calendar year 2003.
The raises that I have projected are for Principal from $75.00 to $85.00, Senior
Engineer from $64.00-568.50 to $70.00 - $76.00, and Junior Engineer from
$53.00 - $58.00 to $58.00 - $64.00. 1 have detailed the proposed 2003 rates on
the enclosed sheet.
I would like to point out that even with the proposed slight increase our proposed
rates are significantly less than the industry standard in the Dutchess County area
and in New York State. However, due to increases in necessary insurances,
employee benefits, and salary structure, I need to request these increases to
continue to provide the Town with same service that we have been providing over
the last seventeen years.
Joseph E. Paggi, Jr., P.E. Ernst Martin, Jr., P.E., L.S. Charles R. Del Bene, Jr., P.E.
