Dear Mr. Segal:
Enclosed please find a copy of a memo from Michael Tremper of Camo Pollution
Control dated September 13th, 2000 regarding the sewer backup at Sherwood
Heights.
We would ask that you review the memo and call this office to discuss a project
schedule of when the recommended work by Camo Pollution Control can be done.
This office would like to be present when the line is t.v.'d in conjunction with
Camo to determine if any rehabilitative work is necessary.
We also recommend that the manholes whose frames have been shifted off the
precast concrete be prepared to the satisfaction of our office, Camo's office and
the Highway Superintendent's office.
We would kindly contact me at your earliest convenience to schedule the above
work.

Sewer Backup At Sher~ood Heights
DATE:
On Tuesday, september 12, 2000, at approximately 9:00 a.m. I
received a call from your office indicat.ing that a builder tying
into the sewer Main on Sherwood Heiants felt that ehe main was
pat:.tially blocked. CAMO Pollutio:1 Control, Inc. personnel
responded immediately, and found that the main was partially
plugged. Late);: that afternoon, in conjunction with the Town
High".;ay Department, the entire area was flushed and cleaned. The
following conditions were found and are believed to be the cause
of the problem:
1) ConsideJ~able amounts of stone, as large as 211, Clnd other
mat.erials were found in each length of sewer line.
2) At least 3, possibly 4, manhole frames had shifted off of
the manholes and need to be realigned.
3) It appears that there is very little grade an the sewer main
and very little flow movement.

. ..
Now that the sewer lines have been cleaned, CAMO Pollution
Control, Inc. recommends that the manholes be repaired and the
entire sewer line 1::e TV'd to determine if there are any problems
or other causes which would allow these materials t.o enter the
sewer mains. Whereas this line was recently installed by the
developer, CAMO .1?o11utiQn Control, Inc. needs clarification of
whether it is the developer's responsibility to do further work,
or if the responsicility lies with the Town.
