Contract No. 3A-3/Whitegate Easement
Dear AI:
Attached please find a copy of a map showing the proposed easement through the
Whitegate property.
As you can see from the map, the proposed easement follows the Whitegate property
line from MacFarlane Road througn to a point just south of the existing sewage
treatment plan. At this point it diverges from the property line and paraIIels the sewage
treatment plant on the way to Old Hopewell Road.
The reasons for not continuing along the property line to the western most boundary of
the Whitegate property is as follows:
1. As you can see on the map, I have highlighted a low area along the western
property line. lfwe were to construct a sewer line in this area, the elevation of
the sewer line would have to be lowered in order to maintain proper cover and
at the same time, would create a deep excavation as we come east from the
western property line. In addition, this lower sewer elevation may cause
problems at the tie in point, which is at the southern end ofB.J.' s Wholesale
Club.
2. By bringing the easement closer to the existing sewage treatment plant, the tie-
in point for Whitegate is shorter than it would be if this line paraIIeled the
western property line.
3. As you can see, along the northwestern property line, I have shown another area
where deep excavation would have to be performed. Not only would the main
installation be deep, but the Whitegate tie-in would also require this deep
excavation.
