Reference: Interim Plot Plan
Dear Supervisor Smith & Board Members:
As you recall, the Town Board entertained a motion a few years ago to adopt a
procedure that would require a contract on building a house to submit an interim
plot plan after the foundation is complete prior to any framing. This plot plan will
show the horizontal setbacks to all property lines and the elevation of the first
floor and garage floor.
The reasoning behind this was that we were and are finding numerous houses
being shifted horizontally and vertically after the issuance of an approved plot
plan. We are then forced into accepting something different than what was
approved at the beginning of the building process.
The submission of this interim plot plan prior to any framing would insure that the
house is in the right place both horizontally and vertically.
We discussed this at our Building/Zoning meeting of March 18th, 1999, and all
present were in favor of initiating this procedure.
