Attention: Constance O. Smith, Supervisor

Dear Supervisor Smith & Board Members:
As a fOllow-up to our May 9th, 1999 letter, a meeting was held at the Dutchess
County Health Department regarding the Fishkill Booster Station at the Fleetwood
Water District.
In attendance at the meeting were Jack Railing, Jim Politti, Mike Takacs, Dan
O'Connor and myself.
The following items were discussed:
1. There would be system shutdown Friday, May 21 st, 1999, between 10:00
a.m. - 12:00 noon for approximately one hour to install the alarm system.
This is acceptable to Mr. O'Connor. By copy of this letter, I am notifying
Camo Pollution Control of this intent.
2. Mike Takacs reported that the fencing and the landscaping in the rear of the
pump station has 'been completed. The final grading is done, but the seeding
has not been done. He expects that to be done any day.
3. CIa Valves/Variable Freauency Drive:
· The only remaining item appears to be the issue of the installation of the
cia valves or variable frequency drive. It was the opinion of Jack Railing
that the variable frequency drive installation is the preferred option, and as
the installation of either will cost essentially the same, it is very likely that
the variable frequency drive will be installed.
· At this point, it is a question of who will pay for this installation. Jack
Railing has written a letter to the Contractor stating that it is his
responsibility to have them installed. In turn, the Contractor has drafted a
letter to the pump station manufacturer to question them as why the
valves were not installed initially.

· In any event, Jack spoke on the telephone with the pump station
manufacturer and was informed that within five (5) working days there will
be a letter forthcoming from the pump station manufacturer detailing the
cost of the installation of the variable frequency drives and the proposed
project schedule. The Village will need to authorize this work upon receipt
of the letter, as this has not been done. It is anticipated that this will be
done Monday, June 7th, 1999. After the authorization, the pump station
manufacturer will install the variable frequency drive. It is Mr. Railing's
opinion that there should be no reason why the authorization would not be
forthcoming. Once I know the time schedule, I will inform the Town Board
Members.
If there are any further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact
this office.
Very truly you.rs, /J ,
