Rullman Request
Attention:
Dear Supervisor Smith:
I am in receipt of a copy of a letter from Bernard L. Rullman dated
August 15, 1994, requesting permission to become a tenant to the
Central Wappinger Water Improvement Area. It appears as if their well
has failed both in quantity and quality.
I would recommend that this connection be allowed as long as proper
plumbing techniques are followed, and that Camo Pollution Control
monitors the installation of the tap into the main and the installation of
the pipe to, and including, the curb valve. The reason that we ask for
this insurance is that this part of the service connection will be the
Town's responsibility to maintain through the future years.
I also think it would be appropriate to have Graham Foster inspect this
as I would think some type of excavation into the Town street will be a
requirement.
If there are any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to
contact this office.
Very truly yours,

SUPERVISOR'S OFFICE
TOWN OF WAPPINGER
Dear Mrs. Smith,
During the summer of 1993 , due to the extreme dry
spell and age of our water filter systems, our well water
developed a very bad taste and foul odor. With constant
repairs and adjustments to the filters we were able to get
passable water through the winter and spring, but our three
various systems are now beyond further repair. Since the raw
well water is still too foul to use we must replace this
very expensive purification and filter equipment or dig a
new well, with no assurance that the water quality would
improve. This has become an emergency situation for us. We
are now on bottled water for drinking and cooking.
Last year a town water line was installed on Losee Road
in front of our house for the new B.J's shopping center just
south of us. We are now requesting permission from the town
to have our plumber connect us to that water line as quickly
as possible on an emergency basis. Your approval, now, will
save us the needless expense of replacing this very costly
system since it is our understanding we are scheduled to
receive town water in the near future. This request, I feel,
is logical and will eliminate not only an unnecessary cost
but any chance of a health hazard to my family as well.
We would sincerely appreciate your early consideration to
this matter. It is a very serious concern to my wife and
me. I am, of course, available to discuss this request with
you at your convenience.
