Dear Supervisor smith & Board Members:
As a follow-up to our May 9, 1995 letter regarding the
above referenced project and our March 30, 1992 report
pertaining to the same subject, please be advised that we
have revised and updated the construction costs listed in
said report to reflect July, 1995 construction values.
As you know, the costs listed in our 1992 report were
construction values at that time, and do not include any
engineering, surveying and/or legal costs that will be
attributed to the project.
The 1992 construction cost estimate reported was
$220,000.00. Taking into account increases in cost of
doing construction work and local inflation, it is
estimated that 1995 construction value for the same work
is $245,000.00. A typical contingency of 10% has been
added to this figure yielding a total construction value
of $269,500.00 for the work.
Listed on the following page is a table detailing this
updated construction value and other costs associated
with implementing the project.

The total project cost, as you can see from the above, is
$403,000.00. It was my understanding that Al Roberts was
working with bonding attorneys from Wilkie, Farr &
Gallgher regarding who would be paying for this.
As you are aware, these were collector lines that were
included within the original authorization for the
Wappinger Sewer Improvement Area No.1, but never
constructed due to lack of funds.
As you are further aware, the completion of the Tri-
Municipal Sewer Plant Expansion is scheduled for the
early to mid part of 1996, and therefore, the resolution
of the above subject should be addressed.
I would recommend that the Town schedule a workshop on
this as soon as possible so that some agreement can be
reached.
By copy of this letter, I am notifying Al Roberts so that
he may have his appropriate information for that
workshop.
