Dutchess Medical Arts Building
Wappinger Park Water System
Dear Supervisor Smith & Board Members:
Attention:
In furtherance of our discussion at the November 13, 1995 workshop
meeting regarding the above, I have determined that if the Dutchess
Medical Arts Building was connected into the Wappinger Park Water
system there would be no adverse effects on the current well
production; -
It would appear from the numbers, that the existing pump would need
to run approximately two more hours a day to provide the building with
water, assuming that the Medical Arts Building uses approximately
2,700 GPO. This assumption was based on the information provided to
me by Dr. Daniel Goldman, and is consistent with accepted standards.
I would recommend that their usage be monitored, and that a stipulated
agreement be reached with the Dutchess Medical Arts Building that they
be jjrnited to a certain amount of water. This amount could be
negotiated at approximately double the actual volume calculated.
From an operation and maintenance point of view, the cost as a tenant
to the Dutchess Medical Arts Building would be double that of a
resident, and would be in proportion to the number of houses the usage
equates to.
For instance, if the Medical Building does use 2,700 GPO than it would
equate to approximately 11.7 houses at an average use of 230 GPO.
The bill would be equal to 11.7 residential bills or as a tenant 23.4
hou.~es.

From a construction point of view, the medical building would be
required to connect into the Town main at an appropriate location on
Iroquis Drive. All costs associated with this connection will be borne by
the medical building, and will be approved and inspected by the Town of
Wappinger.
I am taking the liberty of copying Dr. Goldman on this letter, and would
recommend that the Board make a decision at their next meeting.
The sizing of the service should be prepared by an Engineer, or could be
done by the Town if requested by Dr. Goldman.
I would further recommend that the costs incurred to date, and future
cost by the Town, be paid for by the Owners of the Medical Arts
Building. This number could be given to the Board by Comptroller, Ann
Buckley.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Very truly yours,
