Hindu Samaj Water Line
Dear Mr. Close:
Please be advised that on December 3, 1996, I witnessed a hydrostatic
pressure test on the newly installed water line for the Hindu Samaj
Temple.
The pressure test included that line from the tie in connection on Old All
Angels Hill Road up to, and including, the 2" curb valve that will serve
the temple. The hydrant was included in the pressure test, and the two
lengths of pipe along All Angels Hill Road was also included.
The allowable leakage according to AWWA Standards was calculated at
0.397 gallons per hour.
At 12:40 p.m. the pressure was pumped up to between 156 and 157
pounds. At 1 :40 p.m. the pressure had dropped approximately down to
155 - 156 Ibs. At 2:45 p.m. the pressure had dropped to 153 Ibs. We
pumped it up to approximately 158 Ibs. at the point in time and noticed
it took a negligible amount of water. :
With that in mind, it would be my opinion that the hydrostatic pressure
test was successful and meets the current AWWA Specifications.
At that point in time, the Contractor started to chlorinate the line to
bring up the residual chlorine to 25 mg/1. When we have the results of
the bacterilogical test, I will forward them on to your office.
Please note that before the Health Department will issue the permission
to use letter, they will need a certification of construction compliance
from the inspecting engineer, who was Badey & Watson

Dear Supervisor Smith & Board Members:

I am in receipt of recent correspon~ence from New York State
Department of Health and Environmenta' Facilities Corporation in which
they are seeking input to develop an Intended Use Plan for a Revolving
Loan Fund for drinking water facilities. .
Potential borrowers are asked to submit 8 pre-application form listing the
potential projects and estimated costs. The projects will need to be
ranked and scored, then the Intended Use can be published by the State.
At this point, I am asking the Town Board if they wish us to develop an
application form to the State that includes the proposed Route 9 water
line that could eventually be the commercial corridor, Fleetwood,
Wappinger Park, etc.
Please advise.
