Dear Gentlemen:
I understand that the town of Wappingers is a safety-
orientated community to provide for the welfare of the people.
On April 6, 1978, the town installed a fire hydrant approximately
two-feet from my property. One day later, my sewage system was
effected by this new installment. I took the liberty to contact
Mr. Robert Church, Town Engineer, and Mr. B. Brusie, from Camo
Pollution Control. They both were directly involved in finding
the cause of the problem and reported to me there was a broken
pipe within the area of the new fire hydrant causing this problem
with my sewage system.
I was quite upset and went to a few outside companies to
have them send someone to repair this problem immediately
because it was an inconvenience to my family and I.
The bill to repair tnis problem amounted to a large sum of
money which you can see by reviewing the enclosed receipts. I
feel as a taxpayer and good-standing citizen of Wappingers having
no blame in the cause of this damage done to my sewage system,
I should be totally reimbursed by the town for this inconvenience.
I would appreciate it if my letter and enclosed receipts be
presented at the next town board meeting which is scheduled for
Monday, May 8, 1978 and acknowledge my correspondence.
