After reviewing the bid, I noticed the bid called for a $15.00 per ton credit for metal during clean-up but no credit for the recycle metal. I contacted Vincent Nunziato, at Royal Carting and suggested we take another look at the credit allowance for both the recycle and the clean-up. We came up with a proposal where Royal Carting will pay the Town 40% of the revenue received for the metal, currently $32.00 per ton. I feel this is a very fair proposal and recommend we award to bid to Royal Carting Service Co. with the attached proposal. ~~~ Graham Foster RECEIVED MAR 2 3 2006 TOWN CLERK NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE IS HEREBY given that sealed proposals will be opened at the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Wappinger, 20 Middlebush Rd., Wappinger Falls, New York at 1 :00 PM on the 23rd day of March 2006 for: CATCH BASINS, GRATES & FRAMES, MANHOLE LIDS & WATER VALVE RISERS All bids must be upon and in conformity with the bidding form and specifications which will be furnished each working day between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm at the office of the Highway Superintendent of the Town of Wappinger, 10 Highway Dr., Wappinger Falls, New York 12590. VALDATI TO: TOWN BOARD FROM: GRAHAM FOSTER DATE: APRIL 4, 2006 SUBJECT: FUEL BID We received two bids for our 2006 12007 fuel usage. Both were based on the New York Harbor Reseller Tank Car Average. Fuel Oil #2 Bottini .148 Wilson Oil .2412 However, after further negotiations with Bottini, it was discovered Bottini holds the NYS OGS contract for #2 Fuel Oil, which is actually cheaper than our #2 Fuel Oil bid above. Normally, we would need approval through OGS to buy on state contract. In this case, Bottini will sell to us at the state contract rate, which will result in a significant savings for Fuel Oil. Bottini does not hold the NYS OGS contract for Diesel Fuel or Gasoline. ~~~ Graham Foster BID REPORT 2006 CATCH BASINS, GRATES, FRAMES, MANHOLE LID RISERS BASINS EAST JORDAN ESP INC VELLANO CHEMUNG IRON WORKS 24 X 24 X 24 NO BID 175.00 NO BID 228.00 24X24X30 NO BID 224.00 NO BID 228.00 30X48 X24 NO BID 239.00 NO BID 325.00 30X48X30 NO BID 239.00 NO BID 325.00 CATCH BASINS RISERS (2" RISE) Y2" A 36 MAT'l UP TO 550 SQ.
