Gent.lemen:
On January 2, 1980, I made a brief visit to the town owned Sewage
Treatment Plants. A brief meeting was also held with Camo Pollution
Control. Based upon Mr. Lapar's recent memorandum and these
inspections, the current condition of the plants is as follows:
Oakwood
1. The flow meter has not worked properly for several months
and recorded flows may be inaccurate. A new transmitting
unit may be needed.
2. The plant access road has been regraded.
3. The sludge lines have been insulated and wrapped with heat
tape to prevent freezing.
4. According to a status report from Penetryn Corporation pro-
vided by Mr. Lapar, work 1 isted in service contracts to
el iminate excess infiltration and inflow from the sanitary
collection system should be completed by April 1980.
5. Camo and Mr. Lapar agree that the primary settl ing tank
which is currently not in use is not needed due to the
low flows and additional capacity in the remaining tank.
This tank should be used as a standby unit in the event
further development of the District warrants use of it
in the future.
Rock i nqham Fa rms
1. New sludge viewing boxes have been fabricated and were
recently installed.
2. New drive coupl ings have been installed on the raw sewage
pumps.

1. A bar screen for the influent structure is in the process
of being fabricated.
2. It is assumed the Town Engineer has begun work on the design
of the by-pass. It is requested that any plans or Engineer's
Reports associated with the by-pass design be submitted to
this Department for review and approval prior to construction.
Royal Ridqe (Mid-Point Park)
1. The perimeter boards surrounding the sand filter beds must
be replaced. It is understood cost estimates will soon be
prepared far this item.
In addition, new flow meters have been ordered for the L & A and
Royal Ridge plants.
Please submit a status report on the following items with the
appl ications for Operation and Maintenance Aid grants:
Oakwood
1. Elimination of drainage problem in blower building.
2. Provision of regular funds for regular removal of
sludge from storage tank.
3. Methods of odor control.
