RE: Adjustment to Zoning Ordinance, Section 477 Driveway
On December 10, 1986, a letter was sent to the Town Board advising
that the attached amendment to the Town Zoning Ordinance was improperly
worded when it was passed on November 17, 1986.
In checking the file of ordinances and amendments, it was found
that the amendment that was requested to correct the wording was never
acted on.
It is requested at this time that the Town Board amend Section
477.5 EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS, as stated in the attached copy of the
original request dated December 10, 1986.

The attached amendment to the Town Zoning Ordinance
which was passed Nov. 17, 1986 was improperly worded when
submitted.
I request that it be further amended as follows:
Section 477.5 Emergency Vehicle Access 3rd line of paragraph
be changed to read "distance of 150 ft. or less of the struc-
ture it."
As it is presently worded, it defeats the intent of the
ordinance.

I, ELAINE H. SNOWDEN, Town Clerk of the Town of Wappinger do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was duly adopted at a
Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger held
November 17, 1986, at which time a quorum was present and participated
throughout and that the same has not been in any manner rescinded or
annulled and that the same is still in force and effect and is duly
entered in the minutes of said meeting.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal

who moved its adoption:
BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED by the Town Board of the Town of
Wappinger as follows:
The provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map of the
Town of Wappinger, duly adopted on the 10th day of March, 1980, and
as amended from time to time is further amended as follows:
1. Section 477 of the Zoning Ordinance is modified as follows:

477.1 General
For reasons of Fire Protection, Traffic and Pedestrian safety,
both on'and off street, as well as to provide for possible future road
widening or other improvements, all new driveways and sidewalk crossings
entering onto any street shall comply with all requirements of these
Regulations and shall be subject to the approval of the Superintendent
of Highways, except where such are part of a use subject to special
permit or site development plan approval, in accordance with Sections
, in which case they shall be subject to Planning Board and/or.
