NEW YORK 12590-0324 297-6070/297-7739 FAX: 297-0145 COURT HOURS: TUESDAY 9 AM. THURSDAY 5:30 P.M. February 19, 1998 Supervisor Smith and Members of the Town Board Town of Wappinger Town Hall 20 Middlebush Road Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 Dear Supervisor Smith and Members ofthe Town Board; Enclosed herewith please find the Annual Reports of the Town Justices. We would like to take this opportunity to call to the Town Board's attention the fact that the actual revenue received by the Town in 1997 amounted to an increase over the 1996 revenues of more than 30%. This was accomplished with no increase in personnel and no increase in the court's budget. The increased productivity was the direct result of the Board's foresight in granting the sum sufficient for the court to obtain the state grant to upgrade the offices computer equipment in preparation to go on-line with Division of Criminal Justice Services. The increased revenue amounted to almost 15 times the amount of money which the Town Board allocated for these new systems. We trust that the Board will continue to look favorably upon our requests for equipment, supplies and when necessary additional personnel, to permit us to continue to function in both a financially sound manner as well as to fulfill any of the requirements of our responsibilities to the members of the Justice System and the people that appear before us. We look forward to meeting with the Town Board to discuss our needs in the not too distant future, since Supervisor Smith has indicated to us that such a meeting would be scheduled sometime during the month of April.
