Dear ladies/gentlemen:
I learned with interest, of the opening for the position of Parks and Recreation Director for the
Town of Wappinger. During my tenure as the Wappingers Central School District Interscholastic
Athletic Coordinator, I enjoyed working with the staff of the Recreation Department and found
them to be highly motivated, helpful and friendly. I am enthusiastic about utilizing the
knowledge, skills and experience I have developed over the years to benefit the Town's
recreation programs. I believe I am uniquely qualified for this position and would like to meet
with the Recreation Committee (or Town Board?) to further discuss this opportunity. Enclosed is
my resume for your revue.

including as a summer camp counselor at Hagantown inl968, Camp Director of Athletics at
Camp Echo Lake in Warrensburg, New York in 1967 and as the Director of Red Wing Park in
the Town of East Fishkill from 1978 to 1992.
1 am known to be extremely patient and am fair but firm. I always strive to listen to other's ideas
and I feel I could bring a lot of creativity to this position. As the Parks and Recreation Director, I
would like to increase services to the community and serve as a liaison to foster better
communication between the Town and the school system.
I have worked in Dutchess County and have been a resident of the Town of Wappinger for 35
years. I would be proud to serve my community in this new capacity. I have excellent
