DISCUSSIONS:
Chris Holme of Frederick P. Clark Associates went over a draft of the Comprehensive
Plan. This comprised of the Population and Housing, their effects on business
opportunities in the Town, housing trends, and affordable housing. He went on to state
that recent income levels in the Town of Wappinger households are above that of the
County and 40% of adults have an Associates degree compared with 30% nationally,
68% of the residents are in the labor force, and the unemployment rate is lower than the
county. There was also recent data on commuting habits, land studies and the tax
structure. There was concern that some of the data identified for this plan was obsolete
and needed updating. Discussion followed. Objectives of the Plan were to promote
regional cooperation and economic development planning followed by recommendations
There was no further business to come before the Town Board.
Councilmember McCarthy moved to close the meeting seconded by Councilmember
Paoloni and unanimously carried.
The meeting adjourned at 9:23 p.m.
