. ce.nter of tha northbound lane. Since it is closer to the highwaJ'Y
it restricts the visibility of our building to northbound traffic.
Our building is 250 fget long, and of th~~60 feet is to be
allocated to the sign STAGE DOOR FURNITURE. This would give us a
very small sign ~ and would be out of proportion to the size of
the building, Please note that there would be 95 feat on one
side of the sign, and 95 feet on the other side of the sign'note
skstch).
We are isolated from other retail stores, and since we are not
in a mall, we need a large sign to attract customers on a highway
which has fast moving traffic.
In paragraph #416-9112 of the zoning ordinance for sign regu-
lations authorizes "retail or business outlets utilizing 5,000 sq.
feet of floor area, one square foot for every 100 square feet of
floor area, not to exceed 500 square feet total." We have 30,000
square feet, located on a fast traffic highway.
Also in paragraph #416-9122--for tetail or business outlets
having 20 to 40 linear feet of building frontage, the sign shall
not exceed three. feet in height. We have 250 lineal feet,
The above paragraphs relate to shopping center districts.
We are in an isolated area, and a small sign would produce undue
hardship. We respectfully ask why we cannot be given the same
consideration that is given to stores in shopping center districts.

the southbound lane. As a result a 24" high si'jn would not be ef-
