a. A VARIANCE IS REQUESTED for the following reasons:
1) Strict application of the Zoning Ordinance would produce undue hardship because:
. Our greatest interest and source of secondary income lies with our do~s.
The failure to obtain this permission would end all our hopes and ambitions
in the field of the betterment of the breed of Great Danes and our desire to
be a part of it.
2) The hardship created is unique and is not shared by all properties alike in the immediate
vicinity of this property and in this district because: vie believe we are the only family
in the vicinity vuth this great interest in breeding and showing of dogs.
~he breeding and boarding of our stock would not affect surrounding areas,
and thereforeJ the only change would be on our m~ property.
3) The ,:,ari~nce would observe the sRirit o(,the Ordinance .and \yould not cF~nge the char~cter of
the dlstnct because: No dogs or kenne.i.s would be ~n Vlew from ",...e road or oy
any neighbors. The kennel building would be no larger or more apparent
than existing barns, in fact it 'Inll be smaller and a vast :L'11provement. Our
kennel proeram will not change the neighborhood's appearance in any way.

Upon eX~'Tllm.ng this property for the first time, "m~ explained to
our Real Estate agent that we were only interested in a place
that could be used as a kennel. Before signing our binder, 'liTe
had this agent call the T01'ffi Hall, and the agent reported. that
once vJe had ol'ffiership there would be no problem in obtaining this
license. After closing title we vJere told, to our dismay, that
there is a ten-acre ordinance in effect regarding kennels. \"Ie
therefore make the follolf.Lng plea:
This type of endeavor being possible was the main reason for
purchasing this property, and if this request is denied, then our
'I:ho1e effort in selling our previous home and all the effort put
into this one will have been for naught. An extreme hardship would
be present if l..re are not granted this license, as '\oJe have invested
great ~nounts of time, energy and money into our dogs and their
selective breeding.

Our greatest aspirations for the future are based on this kennel
endeavor, and denial of sa;; 'liould put us in a position of
considering another relocation. This would make things extremely
difficult, as we are very pleased with this home and the grounds
it is situate upon. Also, anot~er move would create a financial
burden that might be impossible to overcome.
Therefore, your approval of this matter is critical to our family,
personal and financial succes..
