VALDATI SUPERVISOR'S OFFICE 20 MIDDLEBUSH ROAD WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY 12590-0324 (845) 297-2744 FAX: (845) 297-4558 Executive Order # 2003-5 LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION WHEREAS, on Tuesday, September, 2003 the Town of Wappinger was hit with a massive rain storm, where over two inches of rain fell within one hour, and WHEREAS, said storm has caused major flash flooding and mudslides on Osborne Hill Road in the Town of Wappinger, and WHEREAS, said flooding and mudslides have caused damage to some of the properties located on Osborne Hill Road. THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH RUGGIERO, SUPERVISOR TO THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER, under the powers granted to me by the State of New York in Article 2-b of Executive Law, to preserve the public safety and hereby render all required and available assistance vital to the security, well being and health and the citizens of the community, do herby declare that a State of Emergency exists on Osborne Hill Road in the Town of Wappinger, AND PURSUANT TO EXECUTIVE LAW, I, JOSEPH RUGGIERO, SUPERVISOR OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER, issue the following Executive Order: 1. Camo Pollution Control is directed to take whatever steps necessary to help remedy any water and sewer problems caused by the storm. 2. The Town of Wappinger Procurement Law is hereby suspended, for expenses incurred during this state of emergency. 3. The Highway Superintendent, Highway Department, Town of Wappinger Patrol, Dutchess County Sheriff, New York State Police, Hughsonville Fire Department '''"''''I ~ .. and anyone so required by the Town is hereby directed to take whatever steps are necessary to protect life and property, public infrastructure, and other emergency assistance as deemed necessary.
