Call to Order
Supervisor Christopher Colsey called the meeting to order at 11:00 AM on November 20, 2009.
II. Pledge of Allegiance
III. Public Comments
Supervisor Colsey permitted Joseph Ruggiero, a representative from the New York State
Comptroller's Office, to address the Board. Mr. Ruggiero commented on a memo, dated
September 1St, that the State Comptroller's Office had sent out to all municipalities. There was
also a follow up memo dated October 1St
Supervisor Colsey then noted that he had a statement that was faxed in by Councilwoman
McCarthy. He read the letter aloud. Discussion followed.
Councilman Beale again noted for the record that Councilman Bettina is in New York
City with his father, who is having a medical procedure. He noted that he has adjusted his work
schedule significantly to try to accommodate the Budget deadline. He would hope that the other
Members of the Board would do the same.
.. Supervisor Colsey noted that Councilwoman McCarthy phoned in at 10:45 this morning
to say that she was at work. He then commented on one of the lines of Councilwoman
McCarthy's statement that said, "They've called meetings in the last week without consulting the
entire Board." Supervisor Colsey noted that the majority of Meetings that have been held were
voted on and scheduled by the Town Board by Resolution. The Special Town Board Meetings
that have been called were called in accordance with the Rules of the Town Board. He clarified
that, while he is not required to check the schedule of each individual Councilperson prior to
calling a Special Town Board Meeting, he has done so for the majority of the Special Town
Board Meetings that he has called.
Councilman Beale commented that he has made himself available right up until the
deadline of midnight in the hopes of being able to reach a quorum.
Mary Schmalz noted that she has had perfect attendance for all of the Budget Meetings.
Supervisor Colsey adjourned the Meeting until 10:00 on November 20th, 2009.
IV. Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 11:06 PM.
