VALDATI 20 MIDDLEBUSH ROAD WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY 12590-0324 (845) 297-0720 SUPERVISOR TOWN COUNCIL VINCENT BETTINA May 27, 2004 MEMO TO: SUPERVISOR JOSEPH RUGGIERO RE: RALPH J. HOLT, CHAIRMAN LETTER DATED 5/24/04 FROM WILLIAM VERLIN FROM: If as he has stated in his memo (see attached) that the property we would relinquish would remain ever green, it appears to be a good deal. Weare aware of the property he presently owns, and yes it could be used for parking for activities held at Castle Point Park or for parking for boat trailers from Chelsea boat ramp. It appears to be a reasonabl~ proposal and we should definitely look into it further. .~~ RJH:mbr , ... .' 5/24/04 ~~CG~~W~~ ~ MAY 21Z0W ~ Dear Mr. Holt, My name is Bill Verlin and I knew you during my little .e days. I would like to present an offer to you in your capacity as Chairman of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Committee. I own a parcel of undeveloped property on River Road that is approximately one acre. This parcel is contiguous to the t9wn recreational property at Castle Point. The Town of Wappinger owns a parcel on the west side of River Road, directly opposite apother parcel that I own on the eastern side. These parcels appear to be about the same size. If Municipal law would permit, I would like to propose that an exchange of these parcels be made as I believe it would be mutually beneficial to both the town and myself. The Town could utilize my lot that is adjacent to Castle Point Recreation for parking for the ball field, or for boat trailer parking for the Chelsea boat ramp. Whereas I would utilize the Town lot strictly for an enhanced view from my lot across the street. I would certainly be willing to enter into a legal agreement with the Town to keep the Town parcel undeveloped and forever green. I would only like to remove any sumac trees that are growing wild and maintain the parcel to keep ir:;thetically pleasing. I am enclosing a visual to help identify the aforementioned parcels. Hopefully the Town will find merit in my proposal. I would like to have this matter brought to the attention of the Town Board for a workshop session. ...
