Re: Shared Driveways
Dear Supervisor and Board Members:
At the February 3, 2003 meeting, the Planning Board discussed shared driveways. The Gigliotti Subdivision
presently before the board is one that might benefit by a shared driveway. In this particular instance the Town
Board may wish to allow such a shared driveway to be permitted in view of the DOT support for this specific
site. Attached is a letter from Oswald & Gillespie stating the reasons that such a driveway would be beneficial
for the Gigliotti project.
The Planning Board would like to ask the Town Board to review this information and inform the Planning
Board as to their recommendations in this matter.
Very truly yours,

Dear Chainnan and Boardmembers:
As per your request, this letter is being sent to provide information regarding the
positive impacts associated with allowing a shared driveway configuration for the
above referenced project.
. The newly proposed subdivided lots wl1l be served by excessively long
driveWays from State Route 376 to the home locations. The driveway
serving lot #2a is propose~ at a length of 1000'. The driveway serving lot
#2b is nearly 1500'. By combining these driveways additional site
excavation can be avoided and distUrbance would be minimized.
. Due to less pavement ."d dist1.lrbance, drainage impacts are lessened.
. By sharing the driveway, the entrance at State Route 376 would be reduoed
to one ourb cut in lieu of two (in accordance with NYSDOT request).
