Dear Madam or Sir:
I have recently spoken to numerous people in the town regarding the proceedures for
adjusting the property line between my property and my neighbors. As it turns out, the
proceedure is the same as if! were asking for a major sub-division. As you are aware, this
involves surveyor fees, Town fees, engineering fees and a $2,000 town escrow fee. This
could mean $5,000 to $10,000 "Thousand" dollars, WOW! I understand there have to be
proceedures and fees, and for the most part they are there to protect and help the
taxpayers, but isn't this over doing it?
After speaking' with a number of the peo'ple in the town hall I was told that this kind of
thing has happened before and there' were discussions about changing the proceedure for a
I simple thing like this. It sure sounds like something should and could be done to make
exceptions to simplify these expensive proceedures.
I have attached a copy of my property plan for you to see what I am asking for. I want to
turn over the highlighted piece of property to my neighbor (marked with #2) and Our
property is marked with the # 1.
We have 10 acres and the little piece that we want to turn over to our neighbor is the
small highlighted piece (maybel/8th of an acre). This small piece is on the far side of my
private driveway and would offer a little added privacy for my neighbor, without effecting
any other properties. Considering that we have 10 acres and they have 1, and the
highlighted piece is of no use to me, I ask for your serious consideration in this matter.
