When my wall was first hit by the plow in the Winter of 1992-93, I called the Town (Hi~hway Department) to let them know. I was told it was not possible that the plow had hit the wall. Now, durin~ the winter of 1995-96, the plow has cau~ht the wall a~ain and it has been shiftin~ toward the road, with some lar~er rocks layin~ on the road. Mr. Foster told me today (April 30th) that there was really nothin~ he could do about the ~all (and that it was not possible for the plow to have hit it -- and that with the ice and snow meltin~ in the walls, that was why they were shiftin~), but by the time the town finished pickin~ up the ~arba~e, it would be well into the fall months by thE time they were able to ~et to the roads to fix the winter dama~es done. He also told me that with the town tryin~ to keep thE taxes down, most of the town's tax money is ~oin~ to the schools and that it would take more than 100 hours of manpower at $15 per hour. He also stated that there wasn't really anythin~ the town would do and reiterated a~ain that he would be busy pickin~ up ~arba~e throu~h the fall. We are very concerned with this problem. Our home iE. 160 years old and we have redone the entire home from top to bottom. We hope that you are able t.o help us with this probIE,m. I can understand that it may take some time to ~et to, but have trouble understandin~ Mr. Foster statin~ that there was really nothin~ the town could do. We look forward to hearin~ from you.
