2010-2132010-213 Resolution Appointing Seasonal Recreation Employees for the Town of Wappinger 2010 Summer Programs At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 14, 2010. The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the following were present: PRESENT: Supervisor Councilmembers ABSENT: Christopher J. Colsey William H. Beale Vincent F. Bettina Ismay Czarniecki Joseph P. Paoloni The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Paoloni and seconded by Councilman Bettina. WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger offers a seven (7) week Summer Playground recreation program for youth at Castle Point Park, Martz Field, Quiet Acres Park, and Spook Hill Park; and WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Seasonal Recreation Employees for the Summer Programs are hourly employees, thus compensated in accordance with their actual hours of employment from the respective budget line; and WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger offers summer aquatics, tennis, fishing and basketball instructional youth programs; and WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Recreation Supervisor has requested, in a memo dated May 27, 2010, and entitled "Salaries for Summer Playground Programs", the authority to hire summer employees relative to the Town of Wappinger Summer recreational programs. Paoloni Attached, please find a chart indicating hires and salaries for the 2010 Summer Playground Program. Salaries are based on hourly rates. The Department of Health requires us to have at least two (2) RTE's at each playground and four (4) at our larger playgrounds, Martz Field and Spook Hill. No raises have been given except for those who made minimum wage last year (raised to $7.25) and those whose positions have changed to a higher level including first year directors, our new "Water Safety Instructor" for our "Learn to Swim" program and our new Swim Director.
