A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger was

Others Present:
Thomas Wood, Attorney
Notice of the meeting was sent to all Board Members on August 29,
1989, calling said meeting for August 31, 1989 at 7:15 P.M. Notice
was also sent to the news media and posted on the Town Clerk's Bulletin
Board on that day. The purpose of the meeting was to appoint the
Fire Inspector to act as Deputy Building Inspector when the need
arises; accept Arlene Jutt's resignation (present Secretary to the
Supervisor) and appoint JoAnn Wasilko part-time Secretary to the
Supervisor and part-time Clerk to the Comptroller's Office at an
annual salary salary of $11,500 to be prorated and authorize the
Attorney to proceed on quit claim deeds for the eight acre parcel
at the Naro Subdivision.
MRS. PAINO moved to designate the Fire Inspector as the Acting
Building Inspector, in his absence.
Seconded by Mrs. Smith
Motion Unanimously Carried
Mrs. Paino felt that the Local Law pertinent to this matter should
be amended to provide coverage in the event the Building Inspector
is absent, however, Mr. Wood explained that amendments should first
be made to the Local Laws that address the State Code and then they
can concentrate on what happens in an absence. Whatever Local Laws
are amended will have to go through the formal process and at that
time they can address, in the Local Law, if there was an absence in
any position, who would cover those duties and responsibilities and
this will then be set forth by law.
MRS. PAINO moved to accept Arlene Jutt's resignation from her
177
position as Secretary to the Supervisor, and send a letter of thanks
to her for her service to the Town and wish her good luck in her
new position.
Seconded by Mr. Reis
