1988-04-11 SPMA Special Meeting was held by the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger
on April llth, 1988, at the Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Town of
Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York.
Supervisor Paino opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M.

The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
This meeting was set at the regular meeting of April 4th, 1988 for
the purpose of considering awarding bids for Highway equipment and
any other business that may come before the Board.
The following Memo was received from Dennis Lasowski, Comptroller
regarding the purchse of a dump truck for the Highway Department:
In the 1988 Budget, Item 02-01-5130.20, an appropriation of
$23,000.00 ws set aside for a step van. If a dump truck is to be
purchased instead, as long as the cost dcesn't exceed $23,000.00,
it will be okay.
One bid was received and opened on March 30th, 1988, from Healey
International Trucks for:
One 1988 Cab and Chassis $24,950.00
Trade-in Minus 3,000.00
Total $21,950.00
Option to install dump body and plow
w/new PTO, pump, controls

The Highway Superintendent recommended that the bid for Cab and
Chassis be awarded to Healey International Trucks.
The second bid was opened on March 23rd, 1988, one bid received
from R.C. Herman Co.

The Highway Superintendent recommended the bid for sanders be awarded
to Ralph C. Herman Company.
Mr. Croshier felt he could do the work himself on the dump truck
to install the dump body and plow, etc. and adhere to the $23,000
figure set in the budget.

Since this item was listed as an option on the bid, there was no
problem and no change in the bid.
MRS. SMITH moved to award the bid to Healey International Trucks
for the Cab and Chassis at a total price of $21,950.00 and the work
to install dump body and plow be done by the Highway Department, the
cost of the bid and the option by the Highway Department, not to
exceed the amount of $23,000.00
Seconded by Mr. Farina
Motion Unanimously Carried
MR. REIS moved to award the bid for the Sanders to Ralph C. Herman
Company, total price of $17,730.00, as recommended by the Highway
Superintendent.

The next item on the Agenda pertained to the Dutchess County Community
Development Consortium Funds for 1988. There were no comments made
at a previous public informational meeting on the intended use of these
funds which will total $34,500.00. It was proposed that $11,385.00 be
used for the cost associated with revising the Town's Master Plan and
Zoning Ordinance and the remainder of $23,115.00 to be used toward
the Senior Citizen Program that will be conducted in the Senior Citizen
Room in the Town Hall.
The following resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN REIS who moved
its adoption:
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger is participating in the Dutchess
County Community Development Consortium for Fiscal Year 1988, and
WHEREAS, input from citizens and groups has been received and
considered, and
WHEREAS, an application has been prepared which is in conformance
with said plan,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Dutchess County Community
Development Consortium Fiscal Year 1988 application for the Town of
Wappinger including the certifications included therein be and hereby
is approved, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the submission of said application
to Dutchess County Department of Planning be and hereby is authorized.

There was no other business to come before the Board.
MR. REIS moved to close the Special Meeting, seconded by Mr. Farina
and unanimously carried.
