Dear Mr. Linge:
In accordance with your recent request we have made a survey of the various
intersections in the Town of Wappinger and have developed two intersection lighting
plans. These plans are outlined below and on the enclosed maps.
PIAN I
Plan I provides for the installation of 21 - 20,000 lumen mercury
vapor lamps at an annual cost of approximately $2~121. Plan I provides
lighting at all the intersections of roads with maximum traffic flow
with other roads of maximum traffic flow. The information for traffic
flow was taken from the Town Development Plan, July 1962, Frederick P.
Clark and Associates.
PIAN II
Plan II prOVides for the installation of 39 - 20,000 lumen mercury
vapor lamps at a cost of approximately $3,939. Plan II would provide
for installation of lights at all intersections of major through Town
Roads with roads shown on the Town Development Plan as having maximum
traffic flow.
Since there is an existing contract between our company and the Town for the
installation of highway safety lights, the installation of the intersection lights does
not req, uire the drafting of a new contract. In the event that the Town has not appro-
priated money during this fiscal year, the Town may defer payment for the lights until
the beginning of the next fiscal year.
When you have reviewed the above recommendations please advise me of the Town's
wishes and we will prepare a Street Light Authority for your signature. It will take us
approximately 10 weeks from the time we receive the signed Street Light Authority to
install the lights.
Yours truly,
