Nine programs for children, approximately 300 children in attendance Over 2,000 books read by 247 children during our Summer Reading Program Installation of3 computers and 2 workstations from the McCann Foundation grant Quilters group finishes quilt to be raffled as a fund raiser Community Room used by Hudson Valley Writers Group, FIT Investing Club, Brownies, Girl Scouts, homeschool groups Baseball in Dutchess County book signing with local author, Joe Poilucci Launching of Home Access - providing access to the Library's databases Reading Buddies program involved 86 children in one on one reading enrichment activities Local area network installed in the library to facilitate computer usage, funded with grant from Assemblyman Miller Library tours to four nursery school . . . . . . . · Notification of a $2,365 grant from MVP to purchase preventive health materials · English as a Second Language and GED classes begin in September, sponsored by WCSD Continuing Ed and housed at Grinnell · Published 3rd issue of the Grinnell Gazette newsletter, mailed to 9200 families . Registered 366 new patrons . Answered approximately 2,500 reference questions · Circulated 21,638 items including books, audio and video cassettes, CDs, magazines, multi-media kits 1867 - 2000 Celebrating 133 Years of Service to the Community .
