Here is the report of Grinnell activities for the last three months, If you have
any questions or comments after reading these reports, please feel free to contact any
of our Board members or our director.
. ' Six weekly story hour sessions for 2-5 year olds, serving 60-75 families
. Weekly Babies in Bookland program for infants up to 23 months, serving 15
families
. Friends of Grinnell meet monthly, planning support activities
. Use of our 9 public comp\,!ters
--945 people using Internet, online databases, job searching
. --87 people using word processing
. Two weekly GED classes for people getting high school diplomas, 30 people
per week
. Three weekly English as Second Language classes, 45 people per week
. Visits by 3 nursery school classes
. Use.ofthe Community Room by Brownies, Cub Scouts, FIT Investment Club,
Alzheimer support group, Hudson Valley Writers Club, home schooling
families
Use of the library for one-on-one tutoring of local students, approximately 22
per week
Construction of handicap lift and refitting restroom completed (Funded with
Community Development Block Grants from Town and Village)
Notification of grants from Senator Saland, Assemblyman Miller, Mid-Hudson
Library System and the McCann Foundation, totaling $43,500
Quilters group begins quilt project for library fundraiser in fall
Program for Earth Day, Internet classes, legal workshop, "Bird Brain*
program, Family puppet show and children's author program took place

video cassettes, CDS, magazines, multi-media kits, binoculars
· Answered approximately 2,555 reference questions
· Borrowed or loaned 647 items through the interlibrary loan system
· Published and mailed out our second Grinnell Gazette library newsletter
As you can see, we will be very busy this summer, offering a variety of
