1989-06-19 .......- THOMAS E. LOGAN 29 NEW HACKENSACK ROAD WAPPINGERS FALLS, NEW YORK 12590 297-8634 June 19, 1989 Town Board Town of Wappinger This letter is a request for relief from certain restrictions on the use of property contained in the present and proposed zoning ordinance. I own 7.5 acres at New Hackensack Road opposite Widmer Road. The property consists of a single family residence and barn and vacant land. It is presently zoned RMF 5 and is proposed to be zoned RMF 3. We have maintained the property with extensive plantings and gardens over a period of 31 years and have a deep concern for protecting the environment and preserving green space. Two of my sons, Mark and Thomas, are graduates of SUNY Cobleskill with degrees in Nursery Management and background in Landscape Design. They each presently are employed by local nursery operators and are desirous of opening their own nursery. They would prefer to operate their enterprise on the New Hackensack Road property. Present zoning will not permit this use and I therefore am requesting that such a use be legally provided in the ordinance. I am not requesting that the parcel be rezoned HB or any other commercial designation but rather that the requested use be permitted in the RMF zone. I will be glad to discuss with the Board and any other Town official the problems and the ultimate plans. Very truly yours, 1:l--f' / Thomas E.
