We, the undersigned, being the respective members
of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hughsonvil1e Fire

District situate in the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New
York, and the Chelsea Fire District situate in the Towns of
Wappinger and Fishki11, Dutchess County, New York, do hereby
petition, pursuant to Article 11, Section 172-a. of the Town
Law of the State of New York, to alter the boundaries of each
respective district in conformity with the matters set forth
and contained herein, and the boundaries proposed herein, and
in support thereof, do allege as follows:
1. The Chelsea Fire Distriet of the Towns of Wap-
pinger and Fishki11 was duly established pursuant to law on the
19th day of July, 1946 and embraced within its territory, situate
within the Townships of Wappinger and Fishki11 the following
premises, within the following boundaries as set forth, described
and contained in Exhibit ItAIt hereunto attached.
2. The Hughsonvi11e Fire District of the Town of

and embraced within its territory, situate
within the Township of Wappinger the following premises, within
the following boundaries as set forth, described and contained
in Exhibit "B" hereunto attached.
3. The two petitioning fire districts, the Chelsea
Fire District and the Hughsonville Fire District, are adjoining
and it is not intended to incllJde within the alteration of the
boundaries of the said districts, as herein requested, any lands
heretofore not included within one or the other of said dis-
tricts, nor is it intended to exclude therefrom any of the
territory heretofore situate, lying, being or contained within
one or the other of said fire districts.
4. The undersigned, each and all of them, are mem-
bers of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Chelsea Fire
District and the Hughsonville Fire District, respectively, duly
elected, acting, serving, and having their oaths of office with
the appropriate Town Clerks, filed therewith.
5. No part of the territory or land affected by this
petition is situate within the territorial confinement of any
Incorporated Village or City.
6. It is respectfully submitted that the boundaries
of the district, as the same adjoin, should be altered, amended,
modified and changed in the manner set forth in Exhibit "C",
hereunto attached, and that such alteration, amendment, modifica-
tion and change is to the benefit of the respective fire dis-
tricts, and has been determined by the Board of Fire Commissioner

of each respective fire district to be to the benefit of the
same.
7. In the event the boundaries of either of the
districts, or both of them, have an indebtedness, either bonded
or temporary, such district shall continue in law as it existed
immediately prior to any alteration or change of boundaries for
the purpose of paying such indebtedness, and there shall be
annually assessed and levied upon and collected from the taxable
real property within such district as it existed immediately
prior to such alteration of boundaries, and in the same manner
and at the same time and by the same officers as town taxes are
assessed, levied and collected, a sum sufficient to pay any in-
debtedness and interest thereon as the same shall become due.
8. All and only the real property within the boundarie
of the district as they exist after the alteration thereof, shall
be liable for the payment of indebtedness, if any, incurred for
tne purposes of such district after such alteration.
9. No prior or other application has been made for
the relief requested herein.
WHEREFORE, it is respectfully requested the Town Board
of the Towns of Wappinger and Fishkill, each and both of them,
take such steps as may be necessary, pursuant to the law, to
permit, allow and effectuate the alteration of the boundaries of
the respective fire districts, as requested herein, and that in
furtherance thereof, they each, and both, entertain this petition
pursuant to Exhibit "en, at a public hearing thereon, make and
effect tre same, and alter the boundaries of the petitioning

fire districts in accordance with this petition) but not in
such a manner as to include territory not previously situate
within such fire district) nor to exclude territory previously
situate therein, and that they further take notice this petition
is signed by a majority of the members of the Board of Commission
ers of each fire district, and acknowledged or proved in the
same manner as a deed to be recorded, and that the petitioners
have such other and further relief as may be just and proper,
including, but not limited to, the adoption of a resolution or
resolutions as such Town Board may deem necessary to grant the
re lie f here in.

County, New York, bounded and described as follows:

BEGINNING at a poi.nt where the northerly line of the
City of Beacon meets the easterly. shore of the Hudson River;
thence southwesterly and easterly along the northerly li.ne of
said City of Beacon to a point as the same intersects the divi-
sion line between the easterly line of Burnsville Realty Corp.
with the westerly line of lands of State of New York Matteawan
State Hospital; thence along said division line northerly to the
southerly line of Interstate Route 84; thence easterly along
said line to a point in range with the westerly line of lands of
Barber; thence northwesterly crossing Intersta te Route 84 to the
southwesterly corner of lands of said Barber aforesaid, said
corner being OD the northeasterly line of Interstate Route 84;

River, said line also being the original northerly boundary line
of the Chelsea Fire District running from the westerly line of
Osborne Hill Road to the easterly, shore of Hudson River; thence
in a g8neral soutwNesterly direction along the easterly shore
of said Hudson River to the point or place of beginning at the
intersection of the easterly shore of the Hudson River with the
northerly line of the City of Beacon as described hereinLefore
embracing all tl-'..e territory lying v1ithin the so defined boundary
